Our gemstones are lab-grown — chemically, physically, and optically identical to mined stones, without the mining. Every piece is made to order, so we cut and set only what's actually been bought, not what we hope sells.
The pendant is 14K gold vermeil: sterling silver with a 14K gold plate. The 18-inch Italian box chain is unchanged, 14K gold plate over sterling silver.
14K gold vermeil, explained
The pendant is 14K gold vermeil: sterling silver with a layer of 14K gold at least 2.5 microns thick. The 18-inch Italian box chain is 14K gold-plated sterling silver.
Vermeil is a surface layer, so it softens with years of wear and friction. Keep it dry, put it on after lotion and perfume, and it will hold its color for a long time.
